History of ICIE

Founded in 1980 by Dr. George Korey, The International Council for Innovation in Higher Education (ICIE) is an international network of universities, administrators, scholars and organizations concerned with new developments in higher education.

ICIE is dedicated to creating a forum where scholars, educators and business representatives from throughout the world can share ideas for improving themselves and their institutions.

ICIE convenes annual conferences throughout the world, to meet the needs of its global membership. Conferences have been held in Canada ( Ontario , Quebec and British Columbia ), the United States ( California , Arizona , Nevada , Hawaii and Puerto Rico), Australia , Austria , England , Italy , Japan , Mexico , Northern Ireland and Thailand .

ICIE also publishes an annual refereed journal – The International Journal of Innovative Higher Education – with papers chosen from presentations at the previous year's conference.
